May 2018 Monday Must-Haves + DANI Naturals Product Review

Monday-Must Haves: May 2018 + Dani Naturals Review

Hello my lovelies! Welcome back for the last blog post of May. Two major things have happened within the past week. First: I am officially a high-school graduate! I’ll be off to college at Sonoma State in August. During this summer, I am working as a student legal assistant, so I’ll be very busy. But, don’t fear. This summer is my summer for blogging. I have so many fun things planned as far as blog posts and future giveaways. If you want to be the first to know of all these awesome products, be sure to follow all of my social medias for the best updates (and want to score big on some makeup, tickets, and goodies).

Second, this is the end of my third month of blogging! Crazy, right? I started formatting the blog on Super Bowl Sunday and posted my first post a few weeks later. I still have a ton of room to grow, but I’m beyond excited for my recent successes.

If you have read my main page, you will see that I have been wanting to start this series on my blog for a while now. Since I started up the Monthly Photography challenge last month, I decided to go ahead and start up this one as well. (The Monthly Photographs will come out next week; subscribe to my email list for a reminder on all of my posts; I never spam with products and services, and I only email when I publish a blog post). Like my Monthly Photography post alluded to, I want these series to be in collaboration with my viewers. I love hearing from you guys and take everything you say to heart!

Monthly Must-Haves is a round-up of things I enjoyed in the past month. This can include experiences and products. I will be posting these types of posts on the last Monday of every month. I would love to hear your recommendations for me. I will try my best to try out as many as I can throughout the summer, and the ones I do get around to (and ending up loving) I will write about in the next edition.

June’s Future Recommends: I’m looking for a few things to specifically review next month: slimes, sci-fi or dystopian shows on Netflix, and Apple App Store games. Comment below your recommendations!

Beauty and Care Products:

Dani Naturals Coconut Hibiscus Sugar Scrub:

This scrub was out of this world! I use the sugar scrub before shaving, and I can honestly say that I have never had a smoother shave. I also find it extremely refreshing to use whenever my skin feels dull or gross after a long day. It’s hard to find a natural scrub that does disappear before your can even exfoliate or never fully disintegrates. The Coconut Hibiscus Sugar scrub takes around 20-30 seconds to fully melt down. It does not leave a sticky residue, like some scrubs do. The scent takes me back to Hawaii; it’s super fresh. I’m obsessed with Dani Naturals’ scents, so if you happen to try any other scents of theirs, leave me comment because I would love to hear from you. Overall, this scrub has set a new standard for all other sugar scrubs I shall use. Plus, in the time I have used this for review (around a month), I have barely dented the jar. This product will last you a while!

Dani Naturals Bamboo Bergamot Lotion:

My biggest pet peeves with lotions are when they are a) so thick that it doesn’t sink into your skin and b) when the scent is so overpowering, even friendly pets can’t stand being around you. This lotion is none of these. The bamboo bergamot scent is so pleasant; I love the smell of bergamot because it’s not a super overpowering mess. The combination of the two scents is truly something magical. Additionally, the lotion sinks into your skin super fast (which I love). There is nothing worse than putting on lotion and then feeling it stick to you hours later. I used this lotion for my hands before taking a test, and it didn’t leave any marks on the papers. I highly recommend checking out this lotion; it comes in full and travel sized options.

The best part out Dani Naturals is that all of their products are 100% Natural. While pampering yourself, you are always making a positive impact on the environment. I would like to thank Dani Naturals for collaborating with me on this blog post. If you are interested in natural and organic lotions, bath products, candles, and scrubs, check out Dani Naturals and let them know you came from this post.

Mario Basdeco Rose Water Spray:

Saying I am obsessed with this product is an understatement. I have gone through around 12 bottles of this spray. The rose-water has been my favorite so far, but I have yet to try the cucumber one. I take this product everywhere. I use it to set my makeup, refresh my skin after a long workout or errands, and to calm my skin after being in the sun or heat. It helped calm my redness and caked makeup-look a ton. Plus, it’s only $7 for a medium-sized bottle. I currently only have the smaller bottle on hand because of all the traveling I’ve been doing, but I usually have at least 2 bottles around my house at all times. I cannot live without it.

Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water:

This product is a must for anyone with a busy life (so everyone reading this post). I use this product on a cotton pad a use it to remove makeup and stubborn eye products during my face routine. It is the only product I have found that removes enough makeup and dirt for my face cleansers to actually do their job. It affordable and it works.

Websites and Applications:

Grammarly:

I use Grammarly for all of my blog posts, student essays, and general emails. This company has saved my mistakes hundreds, if not thousands of times. If you are willing to invest in anything to help your high school or college career, choose Grammarly. Through their website, you copy and paste your writing into a post on your account. From there, your work is instantly analyzed for spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes. With their new update, your work will even be ranked on their scale, given vocabulary and readability insight, reading and speaking times (great for speeches), and given the ability to set goals for your paper, such as style of writing, audience, and emotion.

Siteground:

This is what I use to host my wonderful website. The support team is super helpful and responsive. As someone who knows nothing about setting up a website, let alone design a blog, Siteground was the best hosting choice I could have made. Bonus: it’s super cheap. Plans start from $3.95 a month! You won’t find a company like Siteground anywhere else. They truly are the best.

Books, Movies, and Shows:

Zoo:

Based on James Patterson’s bestselling novel “Zoo”, the television show stars Jackson Oz, an American zoologist residing in the wild safaris of Africa. Animals around the world band together to form unexplainable phenomenons, from attacks against humans to changes in genetic makeup. Jackson and his team of colleagues, ranging from a conspiracy-hungry reporter to a French intelligence investigator, race to solve the epidemic before the human race goes extinct. You can find all three seasons of the show on Netflix (it was cancelled in 2017).

Everything Sucks (Netflix Original):

The show follows a high school AV club and drama club in Boring, Oregon. After a series of unfortunate events, the AV club proposes to film a movie (which is just Romeo and Juliet in space) and cast the Drama Club. The filming bonds the two groups together, in more ways than one. This show was so funny and the characters are super relatable. By the last episode, you will be jumping out of your seat cheering for the underdogs.

Ready Player One:

“When the creator of a virtual reality world called the OASIS dies, he releases a video in which he challenges all OASIS users to find his Easter Egg, which will give the finder his fortune” (IMDb). I have been waiting for this movie-adaptation since I read the bestselling novel a few years back. This movie did not disappoint. If you are looking for an action packed film with tons of references and jokes, Ready Player One is the movie for you. Also, check out the book because it’s just as good as the movie (if not better).

The Hate U Give:

Goodreads Description: “Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed.
Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name. Some cops and the local drug lord try to intimidate Starr and her family. What everyone wants to know is: what really went down that night? And the only person alive who can answer that is Starr.
But what Starr does or does not say could upend her community. It could also endanger her life.”

I recently was able to be a part of a media campaign for the upcoming movie. You can read my post about it here. I love this book, and all of the advocacy that comes along with it. You need to pick up this book immediately.
